Successful Bunker Quantity Survey Completed at Gothenburg Roads 04.08.2026

Our surveyor successfully attended a Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS) during the vessel’s bunkering operation at Gothenburg Roads.
The vessel received 340 MT of VLSFO and 140 MT of LSMGO.
Prior to the commencement of bunkering, our surveyor carried out comprehensive initial tank soundings on board the receiving vessel, verified the vessel’s bunker tanks and calibration tables, and reviewed all relevant bunker documentation.

In addition, initial measurements of the bunker barge were conducted before delivery, followed by final barge measurements upon completion of the transfer, ensuring an independent verification of the quantity supplied from both the receiving vessel and the delivering barge.
Throughout the bunkering operation, every stage of the transfer was closely monitored. Soundings, transfer procedures, pumping operations and quantity calculations were independently supervised to ensure transparency and compliance with industry best practices.
Upon completion of bunkering, final tank soundings were carried out on board the vessel, all received quantities were independently calculated and reconciled with the Bunker Delivery Note (BDN).

As part of Vals Marine Survey’s quality assurance process, all field data collected by the attending surveyor was independently reviewed and analysed by our head office team, carefully selected and trained under the supervision of Baturalp Alkan, who has successfully managed thousands of bunker quantity and bunker detective operations over many years. This dual-verification approach ensures the highest level of accuracy, consistency and confidence before the survey is officially finalized and issued to our clients.
